Hikmat Hajiyev: "Usage of "SCUD" against civilians is first such case in OSCE zone"

"The missile and artillery shelling of Azerbaijani cities by the Armenian armed forces continues despite the humanitarian truce. Missile attacks against Azerbaijan are carried out from the Armenian territories," said assistant to the Azerbaijani President - head of the Foreign Policy Issues Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev.

Hikmat Hajiyev said: "Armenia is trying to expand the geography of the conflict and involve the third parties in the conflict. Azerbaijan has no military targets in the territory of Armenia.

On October 11, a "SCUD" ballistic missile was fired from the territory of Armenia at the densely populated settlement in Azerbaijan's second largest city Ganja. The usage of a "SCUD" missile outside a military zone against civilians is the first case in the OSCE zone.

In the early hours of today, Azerbaijan's Ganja, Mingachevir and other cities have been targeted using operational-tactical ballistic missile systems. To save the lives of the civilian population, these missile complexes have been neutralized.
Today since 07:00, Tartar city and Aghdam's villages have been under fire. One person has died. Eight civilians have been injured after a shell fell on the yard of a secondary school in Tartar region's Duyarli village. More than 100 shells have been fired.

Crew members of AzTV are also among the wounded.

Azerbaijan is committed to humanitarian truce. However, in case there are missile and other attacks on Azerbaijan's military and civilian facilities, civilian population from the territory of Armenia, Azerbaijan maintains the right to neutralize the legitimate military targets."
